Predictive condition monitoring is the acquisition of machine parameters whose deviations could indicate potential failures. Predictive condition monitoring techniques typically include vibration analysis, oil analysis, as well as monitoring pressure, temperature etc.

By connecting directly to the computer control systems of the machines, process conditions can be acquired automatically and in real time, with respect to the nominal value and tolerances, from machinery, plants, measuring instruments and assets in general, immediately identifying potential critical sequences and malfunctions and correcting any process deviations. The system itself can send instructions to the asset to modify setups and parameters and/or can generate alarms and notifications for the user so that they can intervene immediately.
